This piece was made by rubbing fries on paper. There is black paper behind the white paper that is why it appears dark. One large fry from McDonalds was used to make this picture. I wish there was more oil so I could do more with the picture. But ah well. I was still a little surprised by how much oil there was.

Hedgehog in the Fog (Russian: Ðжик в тумаÌне, Yozhik v tumane) is a 1975 Soviet animated film directed by Yuriy Norshteyn, produced by the Soyuzmultfilm studio in Moscow. The script (in Russian) was written by Sergei Grigoryevich Kozlov, who also published a book under the same name.
Quoting a description from the database of the Soviet/Russian animated films: This film is impossible to tell, like music, like nature, like Beauty...[2]
The fog effects were created by putting a very thin piece of paper on top of the scene and slowly lifting it up toward the camera frame-by-frame until everything behind it became blurry and white.
1976Frunze All-Union Film Festival: Hedgehog in the Fog "best animated film"
1976Teheran Children's and Youth Film Festival: Hedgehog in the Fog "best animated film"
2003Tokyo All time animation best 150 in Japan and Worldwide: Hedgehog in the Fog "№1 Animated film of all the time"

The setting of the film is about 500 odd years back in India, before the existence of the rubber eraser. A very talented sketch artist (Rajit Kapur) receives a commission to draw a sketch from the Prime Minister of the kingdom that he is living in. The Prime Minister has told him to make a few changes to the sketch he has bought and that his men would collect it from him the next day. Although he is a brilliant artist, he’s a bit absent minded. He gets clumsy and spills milk on it and so is engrossed in reproducing it. But owing to the looming deadline he gets nervous and makes a lot of mistakes and gets frustrated as he has nothing with which he can erase them. At this juncture his friend, an amateur scientist comes to his house and takes in the chaos. He understands the nature of the problem that his friend is going through and decides to help him somehow. He goes to his house and after a lot of trial and error he accidentally comes up with a substance- rubber- that can erase lead markings from paper. Meanwhile the artist is summoned to the king’s court and is commissioned by the king to draw a portrait of his daughter the princess by evening. The artist gets to work, but as he is very nervous, he commits mistakes again and again. The king gets furious and orders his guards to arrest him. Just then the scientist barges in with his wonderful invention and gives it to the artist. The artist is thrilled with the invention. Now nothing can stop him. He begins creating at his will and is in complete control. Finally he presents the king a beautiful portrait of his daughter and everyone is happy.
All in all, a humorous Chaplinesque film in good old black and white.
